by the Canadian mail artist Anna Banana (1940-2024), prolific small press publisher in the Californian Bay Area and the international Mail Art network in the 1970s. Includes (1) Eat a Banana. Poster, 62 x 46 cm, folded twice. Features b/w images of people eating bananas, and a small announcement of the Second Annual Tea & Croquet Party in Ontario, 1972. Rare gem, with age wear. (2) Banana Rag. Four issues including No. 6 Fall 1972 (with handwritten text and stamp of Anna Banana on rear); No. 9 June 1973; No. 12 Autumn 1976; No. 16 Spring 1981. Various sizes, all printed black on yellow stock. Super rare collection of the 'Sometimes Monthly' bulletin.
(3) Colour printed flyer, contains an article in the Vancouver Sun about the 'Open Art Race' (1974) won by Banana, with rubber stamped additions 'Bay Area Daddaists, Ineffectual Student Art Groupies' and 'The Bay Area Daddaists'. Rear shows handwritten text by Anna Banana. (4) Announcement flyer for the Columbus Day Parade on Oct 12 1975 with Dada Bros. and Anna Banana. Beautiful colour stencil with original 'Bananna Productions' stamp on rear. (5) Exhibition postcard for 'Starspangled Banana' at the Performing Arts Drama Studio Los Angeles, Feb 17-18 1973. (6) Handwritten letter to Peter van Beveren on red paper, dated 14 Sept 1974. (7) Seven postcards, four with rubber stamp additions, 1975-1978. Includes 2 cards mailed to Peter van Beveren. (8) Vile Magazine promotional material, 4 flyers from 1977-1985, one with original stamps and handwritten note. (total 20)
