Stamp-Art Nos. 2, 3, and 5, 1981-1984
Assembling of original hand stamped art by various international artists. Collected, edited and published by William (Bill) Gaglione/ Abracada in San Francisco. All spiral bound, 28 x 22 cm, printed on various types and colours of paper, with some collage elements and drawings. Produced in a limited edition of 150 copies. Some individual works are signed and numbered. All issues contain an artist index. Perneczky mentions that four issues of Stamp-Art 'marked 2-5' were published in total between 1981-1984. In this lot only No. 4 is lacking. All copies in very good state. Extremely rare.
(1) Stamp-Art No. 2, undated (1981). Original stamp work by 57 contributors, approx. 70 pp. This copy with hand signed dedication by Gaglione (Dadaland) to Ginny Lloyd, who also participated in the issue. (2) Stamp-Art No. 3, 1982. Plastic covers. Features work by 89 contributors, approx. 90 pp. (3) Stamp-Art No. 5, 1984. Plastic covers. With 120 contributors, approx. 150 pp. Double issue, one part edited by Bill Gaglione, the other part doubled as Care No. 11 and was co-published by Dutch Mail artist Bart Boumans. All issues feature contributions by a wide range of (sometimes recurring) artists, including Anna Banana, Ray Johnson, Vittore Baroni, Ryosuke Cohen, Buster Cleveland, Leavenworth Jackson, Ginny Loyd, Darling Darlene, Lon Spiegelman, Tim Mancusi, Nishimura & Araki, Michelle Perfetti, Graciela G.
