Pier van Dijk and Robert Joseph. Mail art and ephemera

Collection of 37 items dating from 1976 to 1984. Features exhibition posters and flyers, invitation cards, artists' booklets and cards, original rubber stamped pieces. Mainly contains works by Van Dijk, with several collaborative projects from the duo Pier van Dijk/Robert Joseph.

Some highlights include a series of 4 cards titled 'Autumn' 1976, published in a numbered edition of 25 copies. Each card presents hand coloured squares, and a specific date and time. Also contains a spiral bound artists' booklet 'Ter herinnering aan het geluid' (in remembrance of the sound), featuring relics of a 1978 performance which consisted of ripping up 180 sheets of paper. Each booklet, made in an edition of 30 copies, contains 6 original torn sheets. The artists' book 'Gedicht met twee stoelen' by Pier van Dijk/Robert Joseph, is related to a 1976 performance in which the artists move around a city with two chairs. Another gem is a well designed poster announcing a traveling Pier van Dijk show in Poland in 1983, signed, dated and stamped by the artist. (total 37)
