Johan van Geluwe and Guy Bleus. Mail art ephemera
(1) Johan van Geluwe. Collage on folded A4 sheet, mailed to Peter van Beveren, postmarked 13 September 1974. Featuring a photocopied image of a watch, a mounted postcard depicting the Townhouse of Middelburg, and various original rubber stamps. (2-4) Three artists' postcards with colllaged and stamped elements, sent by Van Geluwe to Peter van Beveren in 1974, 1975 and 1976. (5) Postcard with burned hole and artists' stamp, sent to Johan van Geluwe by Peter van Beveren.
(6) ICC bulletin 1/81, January 1981. Contains a centre spread by Johan van Geluwe, hand-stamped, signed and dated. (7) Stationary paper, A4 sheet, with heading 'Museum voor Denkbeelden, geheugen en geweten der Conceptuele Kunst', undated. (8) Undated note to Van Geluwe from the postal office of Kortrijk apologizing for damages. (9) Mailed envelope containing a press release, sticker and postcard related to the mail art project 'Ponton Temse', organized by Johan van Geluwe, Guy Bleus and Sjoerd Paridaen in 1990. (10) Guy Bleus. Airmail by Balloon, ca. 1978. Invitation to participate in a mail art project. Comprising a postcard in a plastic sleeve, with an attached string holding a balloon. The cards were released in the air by balloon and meant to be returned to the founder. The balloon in this lot is adhered to the plastic sleeve, else a crisp copy. (total 10)
