[House of Orange] Collection of ca. 125 late 19th/ early 20th cent. photographs

Var. photographers, mostly cabinet-sized portraits, but several also incl. large photographs mainly dep. ceremonial moments. Most of the photographs concern memebers of the House of Orange, alongside other European royal figures. Contained in nice contemp. miniature cabinet w. 4 drawers (26 x 31.5 x 25 cm), the front with hinged locking strip at the right side and preserved key. A number of the photographs w. collector's stamp of H.N. de Vries . Interesting collection, incl. a number of less well-known of perhaps even unknown portraits of Wilhelmina from a very young age onwards. Among the highlights are skating scenes by M.J. Visser Jr., The Hague, an early "porseleinkaartje" w. mounted photograph by "Dr. Wotke" (Rott.) reproducing a painting of "Z.K.H. de Prins van Oranje" and a very curious "foto montage ter gelegenheid van het bezoek van H.M. Koningin Wilhelmina aan Windsor 3. 5. 1895". Also included are about 30 other related but later paper items. With a very fine late 19th-cent. wooden viewing device w. large glass lens, fitted with adjustable holder for photographs.
