Collaert (I), J. (1525/30-1580). Ten prints: (1-6) The story of Jeroboam and Rehoboam

Complete set of 6 engravings, all ca. 20.5 x 29.5 cm, after Ambrosius Francken (I) (1544/45-1618), numb. 1-6, the first w. address "Gerard de Iode excu." in lower left corner, all w. 1-line Latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartout. Very fine impressions on identical paper w. waterk vase w. flowers, w. very wide margins. Plate 2 w. sm. dam spot in lower blank margin, al plates w. some unobtrusive foxing in margins. All. lvs. w. tiny holes in left blank margins from formerly being threadbound together, as was apparently done by (travelling) printsellers in earlier ages, to keep sets like ours neatly and unobtrusively together. An excellent set of prints that have been together ever since they were printed. Hollstein (J. Collaert) 53-58, first state (of 3). -and 4 others by the same, all in 1st state (of 2/3).
