Friederike Pezold. Drawing and photo work for the Biennale de Paris, 1975

(1) Facsimile drawing, 29.7 x 21 cm, black on white paper. With title in German and English. 'The new embodied sign language of a sex according to the laws of anatomy, geometry and kinetics'. Top section with yellowing, else fine. (2) Schamwerk (Pubic/Shame work), ca. 1974-75. Original gelatin silver print, 12 x 12.5 cm, mounted on cardboard sheet, 29.7 x 21 cm. Photo in very good condition, sheet with some creasing to the upper edge.

Two samples of works exhibited in the 9e Biennale de Paris in 1975, with Biennale stamp on rear; press copies. Friederike Pezold (b. Austria 1945) is a multidisciplinary artist known for her radical feminist works exploring the female body. In the influential 1975 Biennale for young international artists she presented videos, drawings and photographs featuring a series of deconstructed female body parts.
