[Berlin] Panorama der Berliner Gewerbe-Ausstellung 1896
No place, Verlag von Oscar Michaelis, (1896) (printed by S. Schollaender, Breslau), colour-lithographic diorama interior ("peepshow") consisting of 6 sections of 15.3 x 12 cm., connected with thin paper segments, the whole extendible like an accordion up to ca. 39 cm., as published in the original colour-lithographic box sleeve, 15.5 x 12.3 x 0.7 cm.
Several connections are sl. torn and the box sleeve is split on the right side (easy to repair). A very good copy of this fragile diorama interior.
Very fine and rare souvenir of the World's Fair in Berlin (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Industrial_Exposition_of_Berlin), the box with a bird's eye view-perspective on the front and on the back a map, the interior with a frontal view of the most important buildings on the side.
Compare Christies Sale 1601 (2005), The World's fair Collection of Alfred Heller, lot 88 (yielded 2400$).
