Top endpaper loose; somewhat foxed due to 19th-cy sheets in between pages. Title page has the note N.2 bottom right, although it is in fact the first plate, the KB (Royal Library) copy has the same note (our copy is completely similar w.r.t. contents to the KB copy).
The title page has the note: "Leon. Schenk excudit"; most plates: Israel ex(cud). An edition made by Leonardus Schenck (worked in Amsterdam 1719-67) of "Les misères et les mal-heures de la guerre, représentés par Jacques Callot (...) et mises en lumière par Israel", which was originally published in 1633 in Paris. Gerrit van Schagen was a "plaatsnijder en konstvercooper" in Amsterdam, 1677-1688, no copies of an edition from this period are known.
