Robert Baden-Powell. Original signed letter in pen,

to "Mr. E. Dudley", concerning the illness of the latter's son, officer with the South African Constabulary [S.A.C.], dated "Johannesburg October 21st 1902", on paper with S.A.C. letterhead, only written on recto, 26.5 x 20.3 cm.

In the letter Baden-Powell explains that, according to the medical staff, the son of the recipient was showings signs of illness before he joined the S.A.C. (a kind of colonial police), and that these signs do not stem from the nature of his work there. Although according to the doctors the son cannot do the work anymore, he can lead a normal life as a civillian. Baden-Powell apologizes for not being able to do anything for the son.
