Paris, Gruel & Engelmann, 1887 (printed by Jouaust), (4),37,(1) p., with lush hand-applied gouache and gold-heightened border decorations in medieval style, finely and intricately bound in gilt red morocco by Garidel, parchment inside of boards, silk endpapers, all edges gilt, small 8vo (16.7 x 8.2 cm.), in the original leather box with silk lining and gilt monogram "L.C." on front.
Particularly luxurious copy of a rare work. The monogram "L.C." (or "L.G." ?) was also applied by the professional illuminator in gouache and richly heightened with gold on the parchment inside of the front cover.
