Folio, red morocco, title on spine in gilt stamping, boards with three double line embroideries with floral edges and in the centre a noble crown below which the capital V, all in gilt stamping, the insides with line embroidery in gilt stamping and marbled endpapers, edges gilt.

(10), 1104,(14),(1) pp., title in red and black with large vignette. 2 blank endpapers tanned, at the end parly wrongly paginated, spine trifle worn, else a very good copy. First edition. The history of the Vikings and their conquests compiled by the famous French historian and geographer André Duchesne. The foreword announces a planned publication of 3 volumes, but only this volume was printed.
