Title with large vignette: The Globe in woodcut, (3),64 ff = 128 pp.,(3) pp. Complete with the 4 volvelles one of which with small restoration and countless woodcuts in the text. The folding world map (Shirley 96) with notes in ink in the margin and partly reinforced on blank reverse. No. on spine. On ff 51-53 the book gives a clear explanation of the triangulation as used in modern cartography, with examples of the triangulations by Gemma Frisius from the tower of the St. Rombouts cathedral in Mechelen where he measured the correct distances to Lier, Antwerp, Brussels, Leuven and Bergen op Zoom.
