[Hoorn] Three works on the city: (1) Chronyk van Hoorn,

Daar in het Begin, aanwasch, en tegenwoordige Staat dier Stad verhaalt worden. Als mede De Gedenkwaardige Geschiedenissen die, zo voor, in, als na den trubbel, in of omtrent dezelve en door geheel West-Vriesland gebeurt zyn, tot het Jaar 1630. Dezen vierden Druk met Aantekeningen vermeerdert door Sebastiaan Centen. Hoorn, Jacob Duyn, 1740, (48),680,94; 59,(1) p., with three woodcut title vignettes, 3 large folding, engraved plans, 4 city views (2x folding), a sea battle (Bossu) and 5 portraits, contemporary marbled calf, gilt back with raised bands and morocco title shield, 4to.

Traces of library stamp on title page; small tears in folding plates; leather of binding slightly dry and pocked through acid from the marbling ("acid-binding"). Good copy. Final 60 pages with two separate title pages contain the poem "Westfrisia" by Velius in Latin and Dutch. The first edition of Velius's chronicle appeared in 1604.
