Lice Chansonnières [in translation: Lice songs] was a singing society, founded in 1831 by Charles le Page, exclusively for men. In 1834, an exception was made for the poet Eliza Fleury. The society was disbanded in 1922. The songs (known as goguettes) are usually about everyday society, but a large number of satires and community songs for parties etc. have also been preserved. Some of these songs can be found in this ms, as well as notes, epigrams and musings about life. Includes a (loose, separate) list of donors with books that had been given to the library.
