Paper across inner hinges torn, ties are keeping up very well. With a sizable number of scattered owner's stamps of D.J. Spaans. Extremely rare, no other copies found. Moreover, this is a presentation copy with a dedication in pen above the preface by Van Hulzen and Kerremmans (dated 1891): "Redactie Nieuws v. Dag. Present. exempl. v.d. samenstellers." Extraordinary directory of the YY neighbourhood (later known as De Pijp), divided into the different streets of the neighbourhood (e.g. Amsteldijk, Ferdinand Bolstraat, Frans Halsstraat, P.C. Hooftstraat, Parkstraat, Daniël Stalpertstraat, Van Woustraat) with the residents sorted by house number, followed by an alphabetical register (p. 260-334) by name of the more than 8000 inhabitants of the neighbourhood at that moment. With: Naauwkeurige beschrijving van de zestig wijken der stad Amsterdam, mitsgaders de vijf buitenwijken; alsmede de verdeeling der stad in zes kantons; waarachter gevoegd is eene volledige lijst der grachten, straten, stegen, enz. met aanwijzing der wijknummers waartoe dezelve behoren.
