Hundreds of letters, postcards and other documents, compiled by De Kanter as director of the Onderlinge Brandverzekering der Hollandsche Maatschappij van Landbouw (O.B. van de H.M.V.L.), ca. 1890-1910 but mostly 1890-1891.

Contains among other things ca. 60 postcards mostly sent to him by A. Roland Holst (& son) and many letters from this insurance company, letters from notary office A.J.C. Daamen in Obdam, letters from S.C. Korteweg in Middelharnis, a pack of documents and letters from insurance company Jb. & Hk. Salm, a file with dozens of letters concerning the appointment of correspondents for the O.B. van de H.M.V.L., a file with "uitrekeningen voor de verschillende reassurantie voortellen", a file with dozens of "Brieven over het sluiten van een reassurantie contract bij de oprichting 1890 en 1891" (from various local (fire) insurers), a file with proofs of the regulations of the O.B. der H.M.V.L. and several copies of the H.M.V.L. monthly.
