or "Waymarks of Benefits", North-African manuscript on Dutch laid and polished paper, here and there with watermark in the shape of the arms of Amsterdam (very fine construction of the deckle frame), undated but probably 17th-century, comprising 214 unnumbered multicolour written and/ or decorated leaves written on both sides, Mahgribi manuscript rubricated in red and gold, with many profusely illuminated illustrations in red, blue and gold, bound in 19th-century and blindstamped morocco, 8.5 x 9 cm.

The profusely illumated leaves at the beginning mostly damaged (probably due to being stuck together), several quires at the end with ink erosion (probably another text, with different handwriting and larger text area); part of the bookblock with small wormholes, bookblock occ. trimmed sl. short, in a few places with some loss to illumination. Flap of binding missing. Splendid example of a pocket-sized 17th-century illuminated Arabic manuscript.
