*Lew Wallace wrote his novel Ben-Hur in 1880, about a Jewish prince in Jerusalem who becomes a Christian, as he witnesses the crucifixion of Christ. It would become one of the best selling novels ever and the first novel blessed by a Pope, Leo XIII.
