Ken Knabb, Bureau of Public Secrets, Berkeley California 1970s

Contains 15 pamphlets, magazines and posters from the 70s by the Bureau of Public Secrets, ran by the American writer, translator, and radical theorist Ken Knabb (born 1945). He was known for his translations of Guy Debord and Situationist International texts as well as his own English-language writings which are assembled in 'Public Secrets: Collected Skirmishes of Ken Knabb '(1997) which is added to this lot. A poster promoting the anthology in Situationist comic style is also included, 43 x 28 cm, folded twice, margins worn.

Includes, a.o.: The Opening in Iran, 1979. Broadsheet, 43 x 28 cm, folded, stain on margin; Bureau of Public Secrets 1 (1976) with essays on the Society of Situationism; The Realization and Suppression of Religion (1977); Remarks on Contradiction and its Failures (1973); Double Reflection (1974) and a fold-out brochure by Jean Pierre Voyer 'Reich How to Use' (1973) translated by Knabb.
