Top endpaper and title page of vol. 1 missing (title added in photocopy). Petrus Bertius (1565-1629), Flemish cartographer and historian. The first edition of this important work on the history of Germany appeared in 1616, published by Janssonius with much more engravings. Our pocket edition has also appeared without maps, our copy has all the maps listed in the binder's index added to the beginning of vol. 1. Contains besides maps of German provinces also attractive maps of Denmark, Scandinavia, Austria, Hungary and the Netherlands.
