Without the print depicting the French and English costumes (we could not find out whether that print belongs in this edition). Bookblock and some quires sl. loose, sl. foxed; plainly rebacked with paper strip; edges sides worn.
The first edition of this finely illustrated costume book. Later editions (for example the third edition of 1825) saw maps of the 4 continents being added, something that was only mentioned on the half title.
