Pieter Jan Kost, born in Groningen on 15 December 1905 and died on 22 October 2001 in Velp at the age of 95. Contains among other things the draft call letter (group of 1925, Kost had number 310 and this letterpress number is also preserved in the archive); a note from the same year approving his transfer to The Hague; the official appointment to Reserve First Lieutenant for Special Services with the Volunteer Landstorm Corps Railways; several certificates for the commencement of service of this Corps dated 1930-1934; mobilisation documents dated 25 January and 31 March 1939; documents concerning his promotion on 10 March 1945 to Reserve Captain for Special Services of the Corps mentioned earlier; call to arms for 3 May 1949: "voor onbepaalden tijd onder de wapenen te komen"; confirmation of leave from conscription duty 1 January 1950; permission to wear the badge for longer service as officer, dated 6 December 1952; honourable discharge from military service on 1 January 1956.
