Henry Miller (1891-1980). Manuscript card in pen to "Dear friends",
dated "11/23/57" and signed "In haste, Henry Miller", the card measures 8.2 x 14 cm. and has a preprinted address of Miller and 8 Chinese characters, in the original, sealed and stamped envelope with address of Henry Braakenburg (Sarphatistraat 2-A, Amsterdam) (envelope with perforation holes in tab, lacks 1 stamp).
Miller writes that he is still working on Nexus ("will be year or two before finished") and his acquaintance with Frank Harris ("grand fellow!"). He advises to read the book "Justine" by Lawrence Durell.
With: "Titles still available from Henry Miller. Winter 1955". Bifolium promo brochure, 20.3 x 12.7 cm., with annotations by Miller in pen on front and back. Front: "Sorry, just leaving for my mother dying. Which book did I promise you? [signed] Henry Miller 1/16/56" (perforation holes in left-hand margin, top margin sunned).
