Although the sultanate Boni on Sulawesi had been under Dutch influence since 1666, during the 19th century it increasingly began to resist domination. This account relates of Dutch expeditions in answer to the resistance, also with an eye for the relations between colonial rulers and local inhabitants (total 2).
