[Two Maastricht imprints] (1) Catchpenny obituary pastor

Hubertus Josephus Germain. Catchpenny print, 35 x 43 cm (leaf), comprising a letterpress obituary of Hubertus Josephus Germain, "Ecclesiae Succursalis de Lanaeken Pastor (...).", who died on 20 April 1809 "Circa octavam vespertinam (...) Aetatis suae 59", within woodcut border printed from various blocks, with address "Trajecti as Mosam, Typ. Antonii Jacobi Koemans", (1809).

Folded several times and torn/sl. dam./w. (traces of) old repairs on these folds; slight scribbling in pen in an old hand and some other sm. defects. An extremely rare occasional Maastricht imprint, most probably the only surviving copy. PiCarta only lists two publications from 1805 and 1809 by Koemans in just a few copies; (2) "Oorspronk van het Mirakeleus Beeld, tegenwoordig geëert in de Parochiale Kerke van St. Marten to Wyck." Letterpress leaf, 31 x 19 cm, with the text surrounded by a decorative border and topped by a small woodcut, dated Maastricht, 7 May 1804. Folds and sl. creased; tear in upper margin. Verso with contemp. annotation in Latin. Very rare devotional print, only 1 copy in PiCarta. (total 2)
