Louis Henri Loison (1771-1816), French general. Military document 1800
"Armée d'Italie. Division du Général Loison. 13ème Demi Brigade d'Infanterie Légère". Handwritten document, dated July 1800, with bottom left in pen "Vu par nous Général de Division [signed:] Loison" below red wax seal "Général de Division R.P.F.", also with another 6 original signatures and stamped, 25.5 x 38 cm. (slightly soiled and with folds but in very good condition).
Louis Henri Loison, famous French general during the Napoleonic wars, whose name is engraved on the Arc de Triomphe. He fought for example under Michel Ney (see the next lot) during the Peninsular War and the Battle of Elchingen. Our letter contains two extensive descriptions of one Jean Baptiste Picavet ("Délivré congé absolu au citoyen Jean Baptiste Picavet carabiniere au second bataillon") and of one Pierre Célestin Grégoire Rochette.
