Engraved map with coloured outlines by Hermanus Veelwaard (1814-1872) and Daniel Veelwaard Jr. (1796-1868), Amsterdam, Mortier, Covens en Zoon, 1838, 41 x 57 cm., printed on cloth, with engraved title cartouche and legend, folded in original (?) slipcase with "Gelderland" in pen on front, 14.5 x 9 cm. (a few vague stains, very good copy).

Not in Deys, De Gelderse Vallei; IKAR and PiCarta mention one copy. The rare first edition, even rarer when printed on cloth as it is here. A second and third edition appeared in 1840 and 1845 (see the next lot).
