Nauwkeurige afbeelding der lijk-statie van haare doorluchtige hoogheid Maria Louisa,

geboren princesse van Hessen-Kassel, douairiére van Johan Willem Friso, prins van Oranje en Nassau (...). Plegtig volvoerd binnen Leeuwarden op den 13den van Wiedemaand des jaars 1765. Bestaande dit werk in twee-en-twintig vel kopere plaaten, waar by gevoegd is een accurate beschryving van bovengemelde plegtigheit. N.pl. (Leeuwarden), Abraham Ferwerda and Rienk Jelgerhuis, n.d. (1765). Obl. folio. Contemp. marbled calf, gilt border around size, gilt edges of boards, ribbed and gilt spine w. mor. letterpiece, all edges marbled, 10 letterpress p. (incl. 2 p. w. dedication to the States of Friesland, with engr. coat-of-arms), followed by 22 engr. plates by Rienk Jelgerhuis. The series consists of 21 numb. plates of sections of the funerary procession of Maria Louisa von Hessen-Kassel (1688-1765), w. the names and ranks of the participants below in letterpress, and an unnumb. overview plate of the entire procession.

Sl. foxed (endpapers a bit more) and some offsetting from turn-ins and occas. sl. fingersoiling, leather over upper joint and along part of lower edge of front cover split (one piece of leather loose but preserved, lacks a 2nd sm. piece) and some smaller imperfections. Very rare complete copy. From the well-known extensive library of Mr. Ferdinand Caspar Koch (1873-1957), w. his bookplate on first free endpaper. Muller, Historieprenten, 4160.
