Contains five crumpled colourplates depicting churches (4 on each plate), worked on by the artist in crayon and colour pencil on both sides. Each sheet, 27.5 x 21cm, signed and dated 'Ira Joel Haber 1970' on front. The box has slight staining on the front and a small defect on the side of the top lid.
Ira Joel Haber (1947) is a New York bases sculptor, painter, book dealer and teacher. Since 1969 he has been making (notebook)drawings and miniature environments that have been boxed, floored and walled. His 'crumpled house colorings' series from 1970 is similar to the work in this lot. Provenance from Jean-Noel Herlin, New York. Haber also designed covers for several of Herlin's illustrious sales catalogues.
