[America] Land grant signed by Patrick Henry as governor of Virginia

Dated 1785. Partially printed and in manuscript on paper. Document granting 700 acres of land to Josh Myer, son of Jacob Myer, "In the County of Jefferson on the head of a Northfork of Pottengers (...)". With red wax and paper Embossed Seal applied lower left corner, signed boldly "Henry". 42.5 x 34.5 cm. Framed.

Previously folded, dam. at folds w. sl. loss of text, sl. waterstained along right edge. Patrick Henry (1736-1799) was the first and sixth governor of Virginia within the Union, who is most famous for having declared in front of Second Virginia Convention (1775): "Give me liberty or give me death!"
