[Confidential] Basic Handbook. The NSKK (Das Nationalsozialistische Kraftfahrkorps)

National Socialist Motor Corps. E.D.S./G/3 compiled by MIRS (London Branch) From Material Available at Washington and London. Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force, n.d. (ca. 1944), entirely in stenciled typoscript, complicated collation: (8),35,(1) p.; 5 l.,III,(1),A1-40,(2);B1-25; C1-8 l. (plates); (D1-2),E1-55,9 index p., original cord-bound half cloth with title "The NSKK of the NSDAP" on front cover, folio.

Extremely rare Allied spy manual, only a handful of copies traced in (specialist) institutes and libraries. The word "Confidential" is printed not only on the front cover and the title page (underlined) but also throughout the book. Although this concerns a "basic handbook", the information is very extensive. Besides the table of contents the book consists of: Part I. Development of the NSKK; Part II. Functions, activities and special units; Part III. Order of battle; Part IV. Ranks, uniforms and insigia; Part V. The NSKK Transportgruppe Todt; Annexe A. Order of battle (provisional) of the NSKK; Annexe B. NSKK Gazetteer; Annexe C. Diagrams and plates; Annexe D. Abbreviations; index of subjects. The largest annex E is not included in the table of contents, while this is possibly the most exciting part: "Who's who in the NSKK", with an alphabetical list of names, with ranks, dates of birth, information about postings, addresses and background information, especially for important persons. For example, much information is included for Albert Bormann (infamous personal deputy to Hitler), Allbert Speer (Reichsleiter) and Bayer Ehrenberg (commander Dutch NSKK).
