First 110 p . plates and slightly waterstained in bottom margin. The entire book block slightly tanned/some foxing. Upper hinge broken on the inside. Nevertheless a good copy of a scarce edition. The popular account of Freycinet 's travels around the world with the ship Uranie, described by the ship-artist Arago, with attention to the customs of the natives. The trip went through the Canary Islands , Rio de Janeiro , Ile de France and Bourbon, Timor , Indonesia, the Mariana and Caroline Islands , Hawaii, Australia and the Malouinen . The illustrations are done by Arago as well and are mainly drawings of natives .
